So maybe this isn't the place for this particular journal. Maybe it goes on a blog or something. Maybe I don't care. This is my viewpoints on life and experience, and the religion I follow.
Melodism.

What is Melodism?
Melodism is a passive psuedo religion, as well as an idealogy for better one's life and experience gained from it. Melodism was created by Melody "Kala Pixie" Grace, as a collective knowledge of her life experience, and others around her, in an effort to enhance and better everyone's life.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Passive Pseudo Religion? What the?
A passive pseudo religion, is a form of religion that is not exclusive from any other religions. That is, you can follow Melodism as well as any other religion you want. It's also Passive, meaning, that, it's entirely self contained in yourself.
If you break a rule, there is no one to answer for it, but yourself. No higher being punishing you, no priest or priestess telling you that you're a bad person. You only answer to yourself. Which, I've found, to be immensely powerful.
Furthermore, it's an idealogy, and a set of beliefs. But, you can take whatever you want. You can follow just one rule, or all of them. You can declare yourself a melodist, or not. It's up to you.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Okay, before I sign up, what are the rules?
Melodism follows the belief that each person can better themselves each day. Each person can continously become better. Remember, if you can't follow a rule, due to any disablements, or because you just don't want to, you can exclude it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rule 1: You should try to consciously* learn at least one new thing a day. It does not matter how big or small, just that you consciously* try to do so.
* By consciously, I mean, actively. Everyone learns new things every day, but many people try to consciously stop learning.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rule 2: You should try to sing at least one song a day. It doesn't have to be in public, or in front of other people. It doesn't even have to be real, you could just do a little diddy while in the car.
(This is because, while singing, people tend to forget, for a tiny bit, about their problems. It helps in mood control)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rule 3: You are responsible for you. No one else, can take responsibility for you.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rule 4: You should not seek to hurt others or yourself, or by inaction, allow others or yourself to be hurt.
If you have to contain a situation with physical means, use as little force as possible.
(This includes animals, of all kinds!)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rule 5: If it's within your means, you should help those who need help.
For example, if you have an excess amount of money, instead of buying a shiny new videogame or cell phone, give it to a nearby school for school supplies.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rule 6: Never discriminate. There is no reason to. Period. Period Period..
(Maybe with the sole exception if the person is just absolutely an asshole ^_^)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rule 7: (This plays in with rule 6) Equality is key. Treat everyone like you would want to be treated, if you were them. But furthermore, a certain amount of kindness should be added.
Even if you want to be treated like an ass, you should probably not treat others like that.
Addendum: In keeping with technology, just because you're relatively anonymous over the internet, you should not act like it. Treat those over the internet with the same amount of respect you would treat any person in front of you.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rule 8: Be honest and trustworthy.
While there are many reasons to lie, there aren't many that can justify breaking someone's trust. So it's just easier to tell the truth, even if it can be painful.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Finally, Rule 9:
Be yourself, and have fun.
There is no point in life, if you're being dull. Just have fun. Loosen up. It's easier than it sounds, really.
